Liffey Descent 2025 Video
The club was founded in the summer of 2015 with the overall aim of promoting continued participation in Paddlesports and to provide further opportunities for its members to develop their personal paddling skills. It also aims to create a base in Lucan Demesne to complement the upgraded facilities at the “Sluice Weir” with the long term goal of providing a clubhouse in the Lucan Demesne area with changing and showering facilities and boat storage.
The club focuses mainly on general purpose / recreational kayaking and endeavours to run regular trips throughout the year for its members. It also hopes to to offer training courses in kayak skills and safety. It is envisaged as the club develops it will cater for other disciplines such as slalom, marathon and sprint racing and canoe polo.
